For couples wanting to be in the peaceful countryside with fabulous onsite owners, this will take some beating. The advert accurately describes the homely property. We have just returned from a fantastic two weeks in the one bedroom gite (The Cowshed) and cannot rate this place highly enough. We felt like we'd taken a risk, as it was short on reviews as it had only recently been launched, but decided to give it a go. We were also shown around other gites on site during our stay; all superb. Local area is quiet, beautiful, peaceful, yet accessible; not far from coast and nearby town of Saint Hilaire Du Harcouet, which is lovely with great restaurants and brilliant market. The gite was clean, beautifully and sympathetically renovated and decorated to a high standard with individual touches that made it feel like home. The bed was superb and as I have a chronic back condition this was much appreciated. Swimming pool & gardens beautiful and extremely well maintained. Best "welcome pack" we've ever had (and we've done this for years); bread, wine, a few very nice items in fridge and bathroom made our settling in a treat. Really appreciated bedding and towels being provided - all great quality. Perhaps the best part of our stay were our hosts who have that rare and wonderful gift of being "there but not there"; Jayne and Dominic were incredibly welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Anything we needed or needed help with, was just produced almost instantly. Simultaneously, they had enormous respect for our privacy which is a fine art. De vriendelijkheid en warme persoonlijkheden van Dominic en Jayne! Met liefde wordt alles voor je geregeld en voel je je bij aankomst direct welkom! Ze zijn nog volop aan het doorbouwen en verbeteren. Zo is er een groot zonneterras bij het zwembad gemaakt in de dagen dat wij er waren. De accomodatie was ruim, gezellig ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien! De honden zijn super lief en enthousiast, maar de eigenaren bewaken goed dat de gasten geen 'overlast' van hun zullen hebben, mocht je niet van honden houden. Rustic charm with a balance of modern essentials...
We enjoyed a warm welcome to this spacious two bedroomed Gite, suitable for a family or two couples. Lots of outdoor space and furniture to dine outdoors with barbeque equipment available. Ideally situated for a self-catering holiday with four major supermarkets all within 4 miles. A baguette vending machine in the village close by provides good quality fresh daily bread. Our hosts Jayne and Dominic provided help and advice of the local area where required. Their wealth of experience within the hotel trade is being put to good use whilst the complex develops to a very high standard. The heated pool was clean and refreshing during our stay when temperatures reached 30 degrees plus. Large comfy beds with superb showering facilities was the icing on the cake.
We would highly recommend this property to anyone. We had an opportunity to view the one bed property which appeared as equally equipped to a high standard. Fabulous find...
From start to finish this was a great stay, a nicely appointed gite with plenty of room for a family of four (even with only one bedroom), easy enough to find and with great access to the sites (we went from Mont St Michel on one day to Bayeux on another). What sets this little place apart though is the tremendous generosity of the hosts who did everything they could to make us welcome and ensure we enjoyed it. The fridge was better stocked than at any place I stayed and the children even got an Easter Egg as a going away present. I couldn't recommend it more highly. Excellent gîte...
C'est une belle demeure ancienne typique , très joliement décorée et très propre. La cuisine et la salle de bain sont très bien équipées. De surcroît, l'accueil des propriétaires anglais, Dominic et Jayne, est parfait : discrétion, efficacité et générosité. En résumé, gîte à ne pas manquer et à y retourner dès que possible.
